Grand kids! The Oldest Three and Their Dad Visited

Our three oldest grand children came to see us this weekend and we very much enjoyed seeing them. We had a lot of things planned but winter has basically descended on the Louisville area so we had to be adaptable, flexible and dynamic (kind of like LAPD with no money - normal).

One of our options was Schimpff's Confectioners, a well known historical candy maker in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

We actually got a little presentation from a lady named Jill Schimpff who is, with her husband, the owner of the facility. It is a historical shop and they live above the store. Delightful people. They both weere teachers in the Claremont, California area and retired to come back here and take over the family business and they seem to be having a great time.

The store includes a museum with some interesting and valuable antique items that relate to the candy-making industry.

We also had a chance to get in some horseback riding.

The weather was still cool (cold actually) but sunny and beautiful.

Olivia got two shots because she so cute, young and courageous. Chloe and Dillan seemed to enjoy the horse as well. By the way, the horse is Gunsmoke, age 25 (in real years) so that's why he was awfully gentle.
