Big Day For the Church in Kentucky

Last Saturday, February fifth, the church put on a four hour training session for bishops and stake presidencies (plus one mission president) at the Louisville Stake Center. We had Elder David A. Bednar, an Apostle, H. David Burton, Presiding Bishop, Steven E. Snow, President of Seventy, and Stephen A. Posey an Area Authority Seventy.

Since I'm not a member of a Stake Presidency and not a Bishop, I was not at the meeting. However, since I am the husband of the Crestwood Stake Relief Society President and she was responsible for feeding the visiting authorities, Stake presidents, mission president and their wives, I was able to meet them all at dinner. (I was mainly a dishwasher and I'm comfortable in that role.)

The current thrust of the church, I learned, is to turn Prospective Elders into Elders and to get all members to be more active in temple attendance.

I also heard that Elder Bednar mildly rebuked the brethren for their lack of reverence both before and after the meeting in the chapel.

I don't think I've ever been in a room before, that wasn't in Salt Lake City. that had three general authorities, one area authority, six stake presidents and a mission president. So it was a memorable day and even I learned some things from afar.
