2017 February 24
Today is Sunday, February 26, 2017. Last Friday, February 24, the temperature was 84 degrees here in Louisville. Today the high was 44. We enjoyed the unseasonably warm weather by walking at one of our favorite parks, Beckley Creek Park, in the Parklands of Floyd's Fork. These parks are a 40 mile continuous stretch of parks along what we hope will become the Louisville Loop. The idea is that this Louisville Loop will eventually circle the Louisville metropolitan area - also known as Kentuckiana because it includes parts of Kentucky and Indiana. Beckley Creek Park connects to Pope Lick Park then a park known as The Strand followed by parks called Turkey Run and then Broad Run. It's a beautiful place to walk, hike, ride bikes or paddle canoes and kayaks. There are a couple of kids play areas that are very nice and even a "Barklands" for - you guessed it - dogs.
I took a photo on Friday and tried to add it here. I don't see it as I write but I'm hoping that it appears in the final product. I'll close for now and we'll see.
