2018 May 23

On about May 1st, we moved out of our home at 33 Autumn Hill in Prospect, KY, having sold it to Terry and Melissa Seelow.

We had been contemplating a move in order to gain "one-level" living due to Cathy's bad knees. We had been looking at patio homes in the Claymont Springs development near the Crestwood stake center but we feared there wouldn't be any left when we felt we were going to move later this year.

Then I saw a posting on Next door Hunting Creek, an online messaging and information site. Someone had a friend who was looking for a home in Hunting Creek, our neighborhood in Prospect. After conferring with Cathy, I responded that we would be selling in a few months and if they were still looking then, they could contact us. They contacted me immediately and asked if they could just look at the place. Again, after talking to Cathy I responded that that would be fine. They came over the following Saturday and after 10 minutes offered what I had thought was the highest we could get and which Cathy had thought might be quite optimistic. So the race was on to find our place at Claymont, which we did at 6625 Williamsburg Court.

We had to be out of Autumn Hill by May 2nd and as of this writing, we are still waiting for our new home to be completed. We are dubiously hoping for tomorrow. We drove to Utah in the mean time and stayed with my sister, Beth and her husband Bruce. We got to spend a lot of time with Jake and Meredith and their lovely kids, our grand kids, Erica (8), Jill (turned 4 while we were there) and the twin boys, Fredrick Allen and Alexander Grant Partridge (8 months) who were given their names and blessings also while we there.

We got back to Louisville yesterday evening and drove by the house. It looks great but we don't know for sure when we will be able to take possession.

I have certainly seen the hand of The Lord in every step of this process. And we are hoping He will continue to bless us with being able to move in sooner rather than later. We are staying in a hotel that is costing us $110 a night.

Along those lines, we got a text message from Brother Jim Koller, our stake Executive Secretary, requesting that both Cathy and I meet with the Stake President, President Arthur Day, this evening at 7:30. Hmmmm.
