2018 December 9

Cathy had her first knee replacement surgery on November 21st. This was worrisome because she can’t take any narcotic for pain control and total knee replacement is a pretty significant cause of pain. We got an “ice machine” that pumps ice cold water around her knee and that plus Tylenol and Celebrex have really done the job. She is walking and doing her physical therapy exercises and feels relatively good. She is so encouraged that she went ahead and scheduled the knee replacement for her other (left) knee for February 25th (2019).

Jake andMeredith and their four kids, Erica,Jill, Fredrick and Alexander, are coming for about a week the first of May. We think that Cathy will be pretty mobile and pain-free by then.

I have volunteered to be on the board of directors for our home owners association. My main responsibility will be to get a web site going and then administer that site. Stay tuned. Cathy is already on the board as Treasurer so we’ll just work together.
