2023 November 5, Sunday, Journal Entry
We Served in the Bishops Storehouse yesterday morning. It was steadily busy all morning. After lunch at Cubby's we went to see the Music Man matinee performance at the Hale Theater. I really enjoyed it.
Cathy is getting ready to have Jake's family over today. We're trying to get a Fast Sunday tradition going where they come over each month for dinner. I try to get Cathy to not go overboard so she can just enjoy it but she loves to make a presentation that will be memorable and she does.
Come Follow Me
Hebrews 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
Hope is an anchor
"Hope is a gift of the Spirit. It is a hope that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the power of His Resurrection, we shall be raised unto life eternal and this because of our faith in the Savior. This kind of hope is both a principle of promise as well as a commandment, and, as with all commandments, we have the responsibility to make it an active part of our lives and overcome the temptation to lose hope. Hope in our Heavenly Father’s merciful plan of happiness leads to peace, mercy, rejoicing, and gladness. The hope of salvation is like a protective helmet; it is the foundation of our faith and an anchor to our souls."
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf
