2023 December 7, Thursday, Journal Entry

I think we finally have our front door looking as good as we can for Christmas.

The lights on the wreath are battery powered and modern technology has been implemented. When you turn the lights on they stay on for six hours then automatically turn off and then come back on 18 hours later. So the only trick is to turn them on at about dusk, or 5 p.m., then they turn off at 11 p.m. and the cycle continues. Pretty cool.
The lights around the door are plugged into the front door light socket and it is already preset to stay on all night then automatically turn off during the day so nothing left to do. Don't even have to turn them on or off.

Yesterday I served my regular shift at the temple from 0445 to 1000. Very enjoyable. I coordinate the male ordinance workers who are assigned to the men's dressing room including the new name booths. Just make sure everything runs smoothly.

Come Follow Me
Revelation 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

"Satan seeks to lead us to the breeding ground of doubt. He seeks to harden our hearts so that we will not believe. The breeding ground of doubt can appear inviting because its seemingly peaceful, warm waters do not require us to “live by every word that proceedeth forth from the mouth of God.” In such waters Satan tempts us to relax our spiritual vigilance. That inattention can induce a lack of spiritual conviction, where we are “neither cold nor hot.” If we are not anchored on Christ, doubt and its allures will lead us away to apathy, where we shall find neither miracles, lasting happiness, nor “rest unto [our] souls.”
Just as hurricanes weaken over land, doubt is replaced with faith as we build our foundation on Christ."

Elder Sean Douglas of The Seventy, October 2021
