Journal Entry
We worked most of the day in our front garden. Most of what we planted is small right now but will grow into larger bushes and plants as time goes by.Today, Cathy has a hair appointment at 1000 but we were hoping to have breakfast with Jake at 0915. That won't work so I'm going to suggest that Jake comes and pick me up and let Cathy go to her hair appointment because we only have the one car. We'll see.
Come Follow Me
Mosiah 2:17 And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.
"Remember that the first and great commandment is to love God with our heart, might, mind, and strength. All that we do should be motivated by our love for Him and for His Son. As we develop our love for Them by keeping Their commandments, our capacity to love ourselves and to love others will increase. We will begin to serve family, friends, and neighbors because we will see them as the Savior sees them—as sons and daughters of God."
Elder Peter M. Johnson Of the Seventy, October 2019
Mosiah 2:41 And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never‐ending happiness.
O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.
(Scripture of the Day, ScripturePlus)
"Knowing that service is what gives our Father in Heaven fulfillment, and knowing that we want to be where He is and as He is, why must we be commanded to serve one another? Oh, for the glorious day when these things all come naturally because of the purity of our hearts. In that day there will be no need for a commandment because we will have experienced for ourselves that we are truly happy only when we are engaged in unselfish service. Let us use the freedom which comes from self-reliance in giving and serving."
President Marion G. Romney Second Counselor in the First Presidency, October 1982
