Worked at the temple on my regular shift. I'm in training to officiate endowment sessions which is kind of perplexing for me. The only thing that these officiators do is sit there, operate the on-off switch, and manage the prayer circle..
We took a drive up over the Alpine Loop and turned east to Cascade Springs and Heber Valley. As you can see from the photo, the leaves are turning on some of the trees and bushes. The Aspen trees are still green but the ferns are turning brown. It's not freezing but it's cold at night... down into the 40s.Book of Mormon review (review of earlier Come Follow Me lessons):
The Prophecy of Nephi, the Son of Helaman—God threatens the people of Nephi that he will visit them in his anger, to their utter destruction except they repent of their wickedness. God smiteth the people of Nephi with pestilence; they repent and turn unto him. Samuel, a Lamanite, prophesies unto the Nephites.
Comprising chapters 7 through 16.
Helaman Chapter 14-16
Come Follow Me
“How does your Church differ from others?” My answer to this important question has varied as I have matured and as the Church has grown. When I was born in Utah in 1932, our Church membership was only about 700,000, clustered mostly in Utah and nearby states. At that time, we had only 7 temples. Today the membership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints numbers more than 17 million in about 170 nations. As of this April 1, we have 189 dedicated temples in many nations and 146 more in planning and construction. I have felt to speak about the purpose of these temples and the history and role of covenants in our worship. This will supplement the inspired teachings of earlier speakers."
President Dallin H. Oaks, First Counselor in the First Presidency, April 2024
"We continually seek to draw closer to the Savior through faith, cherished repentance, and keeping the commandments. As we bind ourselves to Him through covenants and ordinances, our lives are filled with confidence, protection, and deep and lasting joy."
Bonnie H. Cordon, Young Women General President, October 2021
