Journal Entry

Yesterday was a really good day. It started with Jake and Meredith taking us out to breakfast then coming over to our house to visit and play games. Then Cathy and I went to the University Place to walk. We drove to Spanish Fork to an Ulta store because they had something that Cathy needed and didn't have it at any other location. I don't know what it was but it was girl stuff. Then went to Costco in Spanish Fork because it's right there and it's the biggest and best Costco in Utah Valley.

I'm going to work for Art Sandgren at the temple today because he is ailing. I worked for Dennis Gauger last Friday because he was sick. It was good for me because my normal temple shifts were canceled last week because it was Christmas Eve and this week because of New Years Eve. So I got to keep my weekly Ordinance Worker duties plus they both think they owe me... which they don't, of course, but it does make them more likely to substitute for me if I need it in the future.

Later, Jake is going to meet me at Costco and I'm going to get a new Samsung 55" TV for our TV room. It will actually be a little larger than the one we have but the price is incredible and we really don't like our current one for a variety of reasons. Jake will help me install it and then help me take down our outdoor Christmas decorations. Another good day.

The Restoration of the Fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

A Bicentennial Proclamation to the World, part 6

We declare that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, organized on April 6, 1830, is Christ’s New Testament Church restored. This Church is anchored in the perfect life of its chief cornerstone, Jesus Christ, and in His infinite Atonement and literal Resurrection. Jesus Christ has once again called Apostles and has given them priesthood authority. He invites all of us to come unto Him and His Church, to receive the Holy Ghost, the ordinances of salvation, and to gain enduring joy.

"Jesus Christ is the head of the Church in all the earth.
...He leads His Church today by speaking to men called as prophets, and He does it through revelation.
...[I]t takes faith to believe that the resurrected Lord is watching over the daily details of His kingdom. It takes faith to believe that He calls imperfect people into positions of trust. It takes faith to believe that He knows the people He calls perfectly, both their capacities and their potential, and so makes no mistakes in His calls."
- By President Henry B. Eyring, First Counselor in the First Presidency, October 2017
