Daily Vitals: Weight: unk, GMI6.7, Steps (previous day): 3,934

Journal Entry:

We had a big day yesterday. Our new tire arrived at Costco at a little afternoon so we packed up and drive over there. They replaced the tire and rotated the tires for us very expeditiously and we set out for Kanab at a little after 3pm.

We found on the way down to Phoenix that taking highway 89A out of Kanab was spot more scenic than taking 89 through Page. So I was thinking we might take 89A when going back. According to Google, 89A is about the same distance and takes about the same amount of time so we took it coming back and really enjoyed it.

I took some photos but due to WiFi limitations I couldn’t post them right now but will add a post later today or tomorrow.

We are staying in a 2 queen bed suite at the Holiday Inn in Kanab and enjoying it immensely. It’s only about 4 hours to home from here so we are not hurrying to get going.

Come Follow Me

D&C 58:26 For behold, it is not meet that I should command in all things; for he that is compelled in all things, the same is a slothful and not a wise servant; wherefore he receiveth no reward.

27 Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness;

28 For the power is in them, wherein they are agents unto themselves. And inasmuch as men do good they shall in nowise lose their reward.

29 But he that doeth not anything until he is commanded, and receiveth a commandment with doubtful heart, and keepeth it with slothfulness, the same is damned.

“Some may think we shouldn’t expect daily guidance from the Spirit because “it is not meet that [God] should command in all things...” This scripture, however, was given to some early missionaries who asked Joseph Smith to obtain revelation they should have received for themselves...

These missionaries...hadn’t yet learned to seek their own direction in personal matters. The Lord called this attitude what it is: slothful...Being spiritually self-reliant is hearing the Lord’s voice through His Spirit for one’s own life.

Alma advised his son to “counsel with the Lord in all thy doings.” To live in this way...is a high privilege.“
