3-2023 August 14 Journal Entry
It's Monday morning and nothing much on my calendar. The Wasatch Blue group of retired LAPD and other law enforcement types is meeting for lunch today at Marley's. I would like to join them if we're not otherwise occupied. I think we will try to take our four mile walk up in Provo Canyon.
Yesterday was pretty quiet. I figured out how to move my journal entries from my Journal app to this blog. And also how to put them in the right order chronologically. I think. Time will tell.
Come Follow Me
Romans 7 and 8
Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
"We will regard our body as a temple of our very own. We will not let it be desecrated or defaced in any way. We will control our diet and exercise for physical fitness. Should not equal attention be paid to spiritual fitness? Just as physical strength requires exercise, so spiritual strength requires effort. Among the most important of spiritual exercises is prayer. It engenders harmony with God and a desire to keep His commandments. Prayer is a key to wisdom, virtue, and humility."
Elder Russell M. Nelson, October 1998
Book of Mormon reading
Jacob Chapter 3 The pure in heart receive the pleasing word of God—Lamanite righteousness exceeds that of the Nephites—Jacob warns against fornication, lasciviousness, and every sin. About 544–421 B.C.
Chapter 4 All the prophets worshiped the Father in the name of Christ—Abraham’s offering of Isaac was in similitude of God and His Only Begotten—Men should reconcile themselves to God through the Atonement—The Jews will reject the foundation stone. About 544–421 B.C.
