Went to church. Walked in the 'hood. Caught up on some of ScripturePlus app reading.
We took a drive last evening out to Eagle Mountain and saw that there are numerous housing projects either recently completed or nearing completion. We actually saw a chapel under construction. That's the first new chapel I've seen being built other than the ones adjacent to the Saratoga Springs and Orem temples since we arrived here three years ago. Gives me hope that we might see a chapel built in our neighborhood one day. It seems that most of the chapels in Lindon and Pleasant Grove already have for units meeting in each of them.
Come Follow Me
1 Corinthians 14:8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
Seems to encourage us to speak with confidence when bearing our testimonies. I personally have tried to adopt the pattern of only speaking when I'm confident that I should, given the circumstances, whatever they may be. A lot of speaking is useless, or even dangerous in some situations, if not done thoughtfully.
I've also become a little disheartened with the ScripturePlus app because it seems to be more a history of what happened back in New Testament times rather than focusing on the actual meanings and implications of the teachings of the Savior and His Apostles as they apply today.
Book of Mormon Reading
The Book of Alma the Son of Alma
The account of Alma, who was the son of Alma, the first and chief judge over the people of Nephi, and also the high priest over the Church. And also an account of a war between the Nephites and the Lamanites, according to the record of Alma, the first and chief judge.

Chapter 2, Amlici seeks to be king and is rejected by the voice of the people—His followers make him king—The Amlicites make war on the Nephites and are defeated—The Lamanites and Amlicites join forces and are defeated—Alma slays Amlici. About 87 B.C.
