2023 October 18, Journal Entry

Cathy's eye surgery was a strabismus correction surgery and according to the doctor, Griffin Jardine, it went well. The procedure is supposed to help her eye muscles so that they focus both eyes on the same object or view. This is a condition that has caused her to not see very well but that can be corrected. The surgery she underwent yesterday might, and normally does, correct that. It's possible that one final followup procedure will be needed but even so she should be better off.
She comes from a family that normally lives well into their nineties and she is 73. So I'm hoping this procedure, or combination of procedures, will make her next twenty years a lot more enjoyable. I brought her home and will try to keep her comfortable as she recovers.

Come Follow Me

1 Thessalonians 3:13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

"Our Father in Heaven knows us. He loves us, and He has provided for us all that is required so that we can become holy as He is holy."
Carol F. McConkie, First Counselor in the Young Women General Presidency

1 Thessalonians 4, emphasizes the need to avoid sexual immorality. Emphasis is placed on the importance of families in Heavenly Fathers plan for our happiness. I can't imagine a better wife and mother than my wife, Cathy. I am blessed to be with her.

Book of Mormon reading
Helaman Chapter 15, The Lord chastened the Nephites because He loved them—Converted Lamanites are firm and steadfast in the faith—The Lord will be merciful unto the Lamanites in the latter days. About 6 B.C.

Chapter 16, The Nephites who believe Samuel are baptized by Nephi—Samuel cannot be slain with the arrows and stones of the unrepentant Nephites—Some harden their hearts, and others see angels—The unbelievers say it is not reasonable to believe in Christ and His coming in Jerusalem. About 6–1 B.C.
