Book of Mormon review (review of earlier Come Follow Me lessons):

Helaman 4

11 Now this great loss of the Nephites, and the great slaughter which was among them, would not have happened had it not been for their wickedness and their abomination which was among them; yea, and it was among those also who professed to belong to the church of God.

Journal Entry:

We are scheduled to attend an Endowment Session this morning. After that we will hopefully rest and catch up on tasks that have been delayed during the past few days. Actually I attended the Endowment Session. Cathy was feeling poorly and needed to stay home. We are still hoping to catch up on other tasks.

Come Follow Me

Helaman 12:4, O how foolish, and how vain, and how evil, and devilish, and how quick to do iniquity, and how slow to do good, are the children of men; yea, how quick to hearken unto the words of the evil one, and to set their hearts upon the vain things of the world!

"You must lay aside any feeling of pride that is so common in the world today. By this I mean the attitude that rejects the authority of God to rule in our lives...You hear it expressed today in phrases such as “Do your own thing” or “Right and wrong depend on what I feel is right for me.” That attitude is a rebellion against God, just as Lucifer rebelled against God in the premortal world. He rejected God’s right to declare the truth and establish the law. Satan wanted, and still wants, the power to declare arbitrarily what is right and wrong. Our beloved Creator does not force us to accept His authority, but willingly submitting to that authority is the first step in conversion."
