Daily Vitals: Weight: 228.8, GMI6.8,  Steps (previous day) 8,583

Journal Entry:

We went to Sacrament meeting at Robert and Tamara Nixon's ward to listen to their home coming talks. They just returned home from the Ventura California mission where they served for nearly two years.

We met them in Louisville where they lived while he was on the faculty at U of  Louisville. They have moved to Orem and we still enjoy their friendship. He was the "Car Czar" in Ventura just as I was during our mission at Louisville. Looking forward to swapping experiences when they get settled back in at home. Their talks were very good and we enjoyed them.

Come Follow Me

D&C 12:8 And no one can assist in this work except he shall be humble and full of love, having faith, hope, and charity, being temperate in all things, whatsoever shall be entrusted to his care.

"Some suppose that humility is about beating ourselves up…We don’t discover humility by thinking less of ourselves; we discover humility by thinking less about ourselves. It comes as we go about our work with an attitude of serving God and our fellowman.

Humility directs our attention and love toward others and to Heavenly Father’s purposes. Pride does the opposite. Pride draws its energy and strength from the deep wells of selfishness. The moment we stop obsessing with ourselves and lose ourselves in service, our pride diminishes and begins to die."

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Second Counselor in the First Presidency, October 2010
