Journal Entry: 

Cold and snowy day yesterday. We both served in the Bishops Storehouse. We were notified that our two year mission would be completed in April and asked if we would like to extend. We both wanted to extend for two more years and with our stake president's approval that will happen.

I'm serving in the temple today and get to wear my new Kizik temple shoes. They are ideal for me because I can just step into them without bending over and tying them plus they look good.

D&C 25:1 Hearken unto the voice of the Lord your God, while I speak unto you, Emma Smith, my daughter; for verily I say unto you, all those who receive my gospel are sons and daughters in my kingdom.

"In Doctrine and Covenants, section 25, Emma Smith is given a blessing for her comfort and guidance in life. The Lord begins this blessing by saying, “Hearken unto the voice of the Lord your God, while I speak unto you, Emma Smith, my daughter.”  

You may not have heard the Lord call you by name, but He knows each one of you and He knows your name. Elder Neal A. Maxwell said: “I testify to you that God has known you individually…for a long, long time. He has loved you for a long, long time. He not only knows the names of all the stars. He knows your names and all your heartaches and your joys!"
