August 6th, 2023 (Sunday)

We served at the Bishops Storehouse and had another busy Saturday. The Storehouse is only open from 9-12 on Saturdays and a lot of people, understandably, don't get there until after 11. So that last hour is always very busy.

Then we spent the afternoon getting ready for Kevin and Kim. They came for the funeral (Devin's) and will stay through Monday or Tuesday.

Our basement is unfinished but framed for a future finish. I had already set up what is supposed to be a bedroom down there as a TV room for the grandkids when they come to visit, so it didn't take much to turn it into a bedroom for Kevin and Kim. The TV actually works without being hooked up to cable because it received wifi signals via Bluetooth technology. So they can watch YouTube, Netflix and Amazon plus I have an old interior antenna that I added and it actually picks up a few over-the-air stations. Anyway, they got here and we're pleased with how it all looked.

We all went over to Maddi's where a bunch of family and friends were hanging out and had a nice visit with folks. I had a chance to visit with Maddi and she is outwardly holding up very well. Lots of support for now. Hopefully that will continue as she now joins the ranks of widows. There are opportunities right in our own families to care for others. I hope I never forget that.

Beth is having some family over today at 4 before the viewing for more visits and some "bad" food.

Come Follow Me

Acts 28.

30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house (in Rome), and received all that came in unto him,

31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

Book of Mormon reading
