3-2023 September 5, Journal Entry - Cathy visits the Eye Specialist
We visited Jake and his famiky after breakfast. Picked up Erica and Jill and took them home to feed them breakfast then Cathy took them out to look at stuff at Home Goods and Hobby Lobby. It was Labir Day so they had no school. Then Jake brought them back last night along with Fredrick and Alexander do quesadillas. We hadn't seen all the kids this much in quite awhile so it was a very good day.
Today, Cathy had an appointment with an eye specialist who we hoped would be able to help her vision problems. That poor woman is really suffering. This guy was pretty impressive. Very kind but confident and seemed to really know what he was doing. Bottom line, Cathy's vision problems "Are correctable" with eye surgery. There is a 30% chance it will require a serving surgery. Apparently there are two problems with the muscles that control her left eye. The first surgery should correct the most notable problem and it's possible that she will be able to compensate on her own to correct the second problem. If not, the second surgery should do the trick.
His name is Dr. Jardin and he mentioned that Cathy's eye problems good very well have contributed to her neck pain issues because she has probably been cocking her head to one side and tilting it a little in order to compensate for her eyes issues. If that's so then maybe this will be an even greater success for her in that the correcting of her head will no longer be needed. I pray that that's so.
Then it's Bishops Storehouse for our Tuesday afternoon shift. Should be much quieter than Saturday.
Come Follow Me
1 Corinthians 14:10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.
We are surrounded by persuasive voices, beguiling voices, belittling voices, sophisticated voices, and confusing voices. I might add that these are loud voices. I admonish you to turn the volume down and to be influenced instead by that still, small voice which will guide you to safety. Remember that one with authority placed his hands on your head after you were baptized, confirming you a member of the Church and saying, “Receive the Holy Ghost.” Open your hearts, even your very souls, to the sound of that special voice which testifies of truth. As the prophet Isaiah promised, “Thine ears shall hear a word… , saying, This is the way, walk ye in it.” May we ever be in tune, that we might hear this comforting, guiding voice which will keep us safe.
President Thomas S. Monson, October 2015, "Keep the Commandments"
In our time, the Spirit of the Lord, or Holy Ghost, is vital to our continued existence and progress. We truly don't know who is telling the truth in our world. And even when people aren't outright lying they are often misleading.
We need the Holy Ghost to guide us. And He will if we are living and behaving properly.
Without being in any way disrespectful, I see the purpose and mission of the Holy Ghost as a celestial gift of a perfect wifi type system. Always available in all places and in every circumstance to give us the right answers or guidance if we are living the right way. A wonderful, perfect and absolutely necesary gift from our loving Father in Heaven.
