Journal Entry

I'm still having severe pain in my left upper leg from the hip down to the knee. Yesterday I stayed home from the Bishops Storehouse because I haven't been able to sleep and was very tired. I took two Ibuprofen pills and an arthritis strength Tylenol yesterday morning and the pain went away. I carefully played pickleball with no adverse effects but was more tired as the day moved along. Cathy suggested I stay home from the Storehouse assignment. I slept some but the pain started coming back. So I went for a short walk and it settled down again. Last night I took two Advil PMs and another arthritis strength Tylenol and slept pretty well until about 2AM. But now the pain is back again. Fortunately I've nothing scheduled for today. I'll see a doctor on Monday and see if we can figure this out.

I'm going to have Cathy drive when we go out together. I almost crashed again yesterday. Old age is tough.

Come Follow Me

"The presence of seers among us is not much spoken of, yet the ability to see beyond the present lends power and authority to apostolic testimony and teaching…

To the question of what our modern seers are making known that otherwise could not be known and what they are seeing that is not visible to the natural eye, I make a very simple response. Listen, ponder, and prayerfully consider what they are teaching and what they are doing. As you do so, a pattern emerges that reveals much, and therein will the answer to this question be found."

"There is an expanding gulf between the standards of the world and those of the gospel and kingdom of God, and … living prophets will always teach the standards of God."

Elder Dennis B. Neuenschwander Of the Presidency of the Seventy, October 2000

I truly love to replay general conference talks and try to follow the advice given.

Mosiah 8:16 And Ammon said that a seer is a revelator and a prophet also; and a gift which is greater can no man have, except he should possess the power of God, which no man can; yet a man may have great power given him from God.

17 But a seer can know of things which are past, and also of things which are to come, and by them shall all things be revealed, or, rather, shall secret things be made manifest, and hidden things shall come to light, and things which are not known shall be made known by them, and also things shall be made known by them which otherwise could not be known.
