We were both pretty tired yesterday s so we didn't do much. We did, however enjoy a nice dinner at the Kings Arms Tavern. I took photos but due to wifi difficulties with this iPad in this hotel room I will have to try to add a photo of two after we get home if I remember. We had a great time though and the dinner was delicious.
I was able to add photos finally.
Come Follow Me
D&C 124:1 Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you, my servant Joseph Smith, I am well pleased with your offering and acknowledgments, which you have made; for unto this end have I raised you up, that I might show forth my wisdom through the weak things of the earth.
"Some of us question whether Heavenly Father can use us to make important contributions. But remember, He has always used ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things. “[We] are agents,” and “the power is in [us]” to “bring to pass much righteousness.”
President Russell M. Nelson explained: “The Lord has more in mind for you than you have in mind for yourself! You have been reserved and preserved for this time and place. … The Lord needs you to change the world. As you accept and follow His will for you, you will find yourself accomplishing the impossible!"
Elder John C. Pingree, Jr. of The Seventy, October 2017
I had the thought that Joseph Smith, one of the greatest prophets to ever walk the earth, is being told here by the Lord that he is one of the "weak things of the earth". It helps with my perspective to realize that Joseph probably totally agreed then and even now that he should be considered one of the weak things of the earth. Even though we consider him to be great, in the context of this statement by the Lord, he must be considered to be weak and I am certain that Joseph would agree. I know that Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ, are so far above us in so many ways that we must acknowledge that we all should be considered weak in comparison.
