2023 September 29, Journal Entry

I worked on the irrigation system for our front garden yesterday. We really hope the garden will be a success. There are some hurdles and I won't go into them now. Maybe when it's all done. I got some good help from Kevin telephonically regarding the automatic watering system. I think I understand how to operate it now. It's a good system and when I'm done I should be able to make adjustments to watering times fairly easily.

After working in the garden and while getting ready to take a shower, we got a call from some of our friends at the Bishops Storehouse wanting to know if we could come over and help. The Storehouse main market area was closed for the remodeling taking place during general conference weekend and the staff was attempting to fill orders directly from the warehouse. It was 6:30 p.m. And they still had many orders to fill. We went over and helped fill orders from the warehouse area then people who needed for picked it up at the east doors. I'm glad they called us and we were glad to hurry over and help them. This segues nicely into today's Come Follow Me topic. Read on

Come Follow Me

Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

"The Apostle Paul taught that we should “bear … one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” Accordingly, our baptismal covenants require that we should be “willing to bear one another’s burdens, that they may be light; yea, and [be] willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort.”

Keeping our baptismal covenants helps relieve our own burdens as well as those of burdened souls we serve. Those who offer such assistance to others stand on holy ground."
