2023 September 24, Journal Entry

We served in the Bishops Storehouse yesterday and I really enjoyed it. We were busy from the start but not overly so. There was no last minute rush as there usually is on Saturdays.

We took some peaches over to Jake's house and had a nice visit with him and the kids. They had gone to the temple with Meredith's mom and brother, Ethan. It's nice to see your kids going to the temple.

While we were at lunch I began to have trouble with my iPhone because it wouldn't connect to the internet. It kept saying that I couldn't access the internet because of "no SIM card". We went to the Verizon store on University Parkway and they installed, or activated, a digital sim card in my phone which means that it won't ever need another SIM card. I don't know what that all means but the phone works now and it didn't cost anything.

While I was at the Verizon store I asked the guy helping me if Verizon 5g Wifi was available yet at our house and it is. Newly available. We have been using Xfinity which is connected to a cable and is pretty good but extremely expensive... Somewhere around $240 a month for wifi and cable TV. Verizon 5g comes over the air and is supposed to be at least as powerful as cable. It is 5g where cable is 4g. Anyway, Verizon wireless combined with You Tube TV will be about $100 a month less expensive. So we are going to try it.

Today, Bill Harvey, my next door neighbor, and I are doing some sort of "security assignment" at a Tabernacle exhibit in Lehi from 7-9 a.m. Maybe I'll comment on that later.

Come Follow Me

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

"What do we need to improve in our lives spiritually, physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually? Now is the time to prepare and prove ourselves willing and able to do all things whatsoever the Lord our God shall command us."

Elder David A. Bednar, October 2020

Book of Mormon reading

Alma Chapter 35, The preaching of the word destroys the craft of the Zoramites—They expel the converts, who then join the people of Ammon in Jershon—Alma sorrows because of the wickedness of the people. About 74 B.C.

I only did one chapter today because Alma 36 and 37 go together and they are somewhat lengthy. I will do them tomorrow.
