After getting home from the temple, I wanted to dig a couple of holes to plant the two beautiful hydrangeas that Cathy picked out for our front garden. But there is a pretty large area that is just muddy all the time.

I noticed a truck nearby that indicated it was a sprinkler and irrigation repair truck with the company that does our neighborhood landscaping for our HOA. So I asked the guy to take a look at my muddy area. Bottom line is there is a very slight depression in our yard that causes water to gather there and not drain. There are no pipe leaks. As you can see, we checked. So I think I'm going to add more soil to sort of reduce the depression and improve runoff and go ahead and plant the hydrangeas and hope for the best.
