3-2023 September 12, Journal Entry

Nice quiet Monday morning. Then we took a "short" walk in the canyon... a little over two miles. Visited my sister, Beth.

She's doing well but found out that Karen had a fall on Sunday and broke her right foot. Which means she can't drive her car for a while. Plus she lives on the sixth floor of what will temporarily be a "walk up" apartment building. Her elevator is apparently going to be shut down for a time for repairs. So there is good reason for concern. And she has been planning on moving out of San Francisco and into Beth's home in Provo. This will require some detailed planning and assistance now with her injury.  Stay tuned.

We picked up Erica after school and took her to lunch at Guru's. That was nice. It was a special treat for her on her 14th birthday. She is a very special young lady and we want to always be there for her.

Come Follow Me

2 Corinthians 7

“The apostle Paul taught that ‘godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation … but the sorrow of the world worketh death’. Godly sorrow inspires change and hope through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Worldly sorrow pulls us down, extinguishes hope and persuades us to give in to further temptation.

“Godly sorrow leads to conversion and a change of heart. It causes us to hate sin and love goodness. It encourages us to stand up and walk in the light of Christ’s love. True repentance is about transformation, not torture or torment. Yes, heartfelt regret and true remorse for disobedience are often painful and very important steps in the sacred process of repentance. But when guilt leads to self-loathing or prevents us from rising up again, it is impeding rather than promoting our repentance.”

— Then-President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, October 2013 general conference, "You Can Do It Now"
