I got most of my front garden irrigation tubing finished yesterday. It took most of the day and when I turned it on I found that I had created a leak. I know where it is and I hope to be able to fix it today. Then I add the mulch and reposition the stepping stones and hopefully I'm done. Today is Saturday and general conference so I'll try to work around that. Fortunately we will record all conference sessions so I should be able to not miss anything.
We walked the miles up in the canyon yesterday morning and it was actually cold. I'll take a jacket along next time.
My weight is down to 231. I actually bought a pair of 36" waist Wrangler pants at Walmart and they fit pretty well. Not too long ago my 40" waist pants were pretty tight so progress.
Come Follow Me
"In Galatians (6:7) we read, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”…[T]ranslated into simple idiom that means that if you pick up one end of a stick, you pick up the other. When you pick a path, you choose the place it leads to….
We are like children walking a path in the rain. We can walk in or around the mud of life as we desire, but with our choices come the consequences. And we are rapidly becoming what we are choosing to be for all eternity."
Sister Elaine Cannon, Young Women General President, October 1983
Paul’s counsel reminds us that our actions have consequences. How are our daily attitudes, thoughts, and behaviors leading us to be the person that we want to be for eternity? This is true and it's now.
The Bible Dictionary contains this about Repentance:
"Since we are born into conditions of mortality, repentance comes to mean a turning of the heart and will to God, and a renunciation of sin to which we are naturally inclined. Without this there can be no progress in the things of the soul’s salvation, for all accountable persons are stained by sin and must be cleansed in order to enter the kingdom of heaven. Repentance is not optional for salvation; it is a commandment of God (D&C 18:9–22; 20:29; 133:16)."
