2023 November 16, Thursday, (Scottsdale) Journal Entry

Our initial room at the Scottsdale Mccormick was terrible. The TV didn't work. It smelled bad. The door to its patio didn't work. Anyway I went to the front desk yesterday morning and pointed these things out to the manager and he very pleasantly offered a new room. It is actually a suite with a balcony overlooking a little lake. Everything works. I am much happier with the room. As you can see from the photos, we have a nice balcony where we can play games and enjoy the 80 degree afternoon weather.

We spent the morning taking Kevin to breakfast then riding around with him and seeing the sights

We went to place called Fashion Square here in Scottsdale which is by far the most luxurious and largest shopping mall I've ever seen. After walking around in there for awhile we went back to our hotel and enjoyed our new room in the afternoon.

Then we went to Kevin's for dinner with Kevin, Kim and Blake. Olivia was also there and Chloe along with her husband, Orlando
and baby, Jordyn.

Come Follow Me

Think Celestial!

By President Russell M. Nelson, President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

"Your choices will determine where you will live throughout eternity, the kind of body with which you will be resurrected, and those with whom you will live forever."

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

"Brothers and sisters, we have a heaven-sent opportunity as an entire Church to demonstrate “pure religion … undefiled before God”—“to bear one another’s burdens, that they may be light” and to “comfort those that stand in need of comfort,” to minister to the widows and the fatherless, the married and the single, the strong and the distraught, the downtrodden and the robust, the happy and the sad—in short, all of us, every one of us, because we all need to feel the warm hand of friendship and hear the firm declaration of faith... we see this as an invitation to care for one another in a bold, new, holier way...
In spite of what we all feel are our limitations and inadequacies—and we all have challenges—nevertheless, may we labor side by side with the Lord of the vineyard, giving the God and Father of us all a helping hand with His staggering task of answering prayers, providing comfort, drying tears, and strengthening feeble knees..."

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

Book of Mormon reading
Moroni Chapter 7, An invitation is given to enter into the rest of the Lord—Pray with real intent—The Spirit of Christ enables men to know good from evil—Satan persuades men to deny Christ and do evil—The prophets manifest the coming of Christ—By faith, miracles are wrought and angels minister—Men should hope for eternal life and cleave unto charity. About A.D. 401–21.

46 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail—

47 But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.

Chapter 8, The baptism of little children is an evil abomination—Little children are alive in Christ because of the Atonement—Faith, repentance, meekness and lowliness of heart, receiving the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end lead to salvation. About A.D. 401–21.
