Journal Entry:

I'm not doing a very good job of saving these Journal entries apparently. I'm having a tough time right now because of the mostly constant pain I'm in. See tomorrow's Journal Entry for as much catching up as I can remember.

Come Follow Me

Alma the younger:

Mosiah 27: 29 My soul hath been redeemed from the gall of bitterness and bonds of iniquity. I was in the darkest abyss; but now I behold the marvelous light of God. My soul was racked with eternal torment; but I am snatched, and my soul is pained no more.

30 I rejected my Redeemer, and denied that which had been spoken of by our fathers; but now that they may foresee that he will come, and that he remembereth every creature of his creating, he will make himself manifest unto all.

"Transgression brings pain and sorrow. But there is a way out of “the gall of bitterness and bonds of iniquity.” If we will turn to the Lord and believe on His name, we can change. He will give us the power to change our lives, the power to put away bad thoughts and feelings from our hearts. We can be taken from “the darkest abyss” to “behold the marvelous light of God.” We can be forgiven. We can find peace."

President James E. Faust (1920–2007), Second Counselor in the First Presidency

President Faust prepared this article in the months before his passing on August 10, 2007.

"The power to change is very real, and it is a great spiritual gift from God."
