Journal Entry

Last night was my second night here in the hospital because my incision needs to drain. It wasn't quite drained enough yesterday so I had to stay an additional night. There is a tube that comes out of my incision and it drains into this device called a Closed Wound Suction Evacuator. Apparently when this device stops filling up with blood, then that's a good thing and I get to go home. It's still draining some, though, and I truly hope it's drained enough. Last night I only slept for 3 hours and 19 minutes. Not much sleep. And I only slept 4 hours and 13 minutes the previous night according to the sleep app on my iphone which is pretty accurate. Not enough sleep. When you stay in a hospital overnight they seem to time their visits to your bedside so that you never sleep more than about 45 minutes in a row.

Come Follow Me

Alma 12:10 And therefore, he that will harden his heart, the same receiveth the lesser portion of the word; and he that will not harden his heart, to him is given the greater portion of the word, until it is given unto him to know the mysteries of God until he know them in full.

11 And they that will harden their hearts, to them is given the lesser portion of the word until they know nothing concerning his mysteries; and then they are taken captive by the devil, and led by his will down to destruction. Now this is what is meant by the chains of hell.

"…You can have your own testimony if you do what is necessary to obtain one…

First, don’t harden your heart. Seek to know. In other words, have an intense, consuming desire to know. Give place for a seed to be planted in your heart. And if you do this, do you know what the promise is? Alma tells us, “He that will not harden his heart, to him is given … to know the mysteries of God.”

"The Holy Ghost has the power to bring light and understanding to our lives, but we must pay the price to seek and win His companionship."
