Journal Entry

I have several rings that I've worn over the years but all are now too large and easily slip off. While browsing a church related publication the other day I noticed in an ad for Deseret Book some nice rings that were affordably priced. So Cathy and I decided to drive to the large Deseret Book store near Temple Square and see what they had. I found a very nice and stylish CTR ring that Cathy and I both liked and so I got it.

Afterward we walked around temple square to see how things were progressing there. I took this photo of the church office building. The temple is coming along but will be another two years before it's done. When it's all over,we believe that temple square will be amazingly beautiful. Looking forward to that.

Then we decided to have lunch at the Trellis Cafe at Thanksgiving Point on the way home. They make arguably one of the best hamburgers available. They use Wagyu beef from Japan and it is as good as it looks.

Come Follow Me

When we put God first, all other things fall into their proper place or drop out of our lives. Our love of the Lord will govern the claims for our affection, the demands on our time, the interests we pursue, and the order of our priorities. [Ezra Taft Benson, CR, April 1988, 3; or “The Great Commandment—Love the Lord,” Ensign, May 1988, 4]

Alma 7: 23 And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and gentle; easy to be entreated; full of patience and long-suffering; being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temporal; always returning thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive.

24 And see that ye have faith, hope, and charity, and then ye will always abound in good works.

"To open the windows of heaven, we must conform our will to God’s will. Diligent, enduring obedience to God’s laws is the key that opens the windows of heaven. Obedience enables us to be receptive to the mind and will of the Lord…"and the willing and obedient” are those who receive the blessings of revelation through the open windows of heaven."

Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, October 1995
