 Vitals:  Weight 227, A1C (GMI) 6.6

Book of Mormon Review Reading: Mosiah 4: 29 And finally, I cannot tell you all the things whereby ye may commit sin; for there are divers ways and means, even so many that I cannot number them.

30 But this much I can tell you, that if ye do not watch yourselves, and your thoughts, and your words, and your deeds, and observe the commandments of God, and continue in the faith of what ye have heard concerning the coming of our Lord, even unto the end of your lives, ye must perish. And now, O man, remember, and perish not.

Journal Entry:

Still in pain.

Were going to get our rear shock absorbers on our car replaced this morning. At that point the car will be as close to new condition as we can make it. My goal is to get another 100,000 miles out of it and I truly believe that is possible. I'm starting to hope that this might be the last car we ever own. I'm told that a third 100,000 miles is not unreasonable so we'll see. By then I should be well into my 80s.

Jake came over yesterday and helped with a couple of heavy lifting projects. He's very pleasant about helping us and we truly appreciate that.

Come Follow Me

Alma 5: 53 And now my beloved brethren, I say unto you, can ye withstand these sayings; yea, can ye lay aside these things, and trample the Holy One under your feet; yea, can ye be puffed up in the pride of your hearts; yea, will ye still persist in the wearing of costly apparel and setting your hearts upon the vain things of the world, upon your riches?

54 Yea, will ye persist in supposing that ye are better one than another; yea, will ye persist in the persecution of your brethren, who humble themselves and do walk after the holy order of God, wherewith they have been brought into this church, having been sanctified by the Holy Spirit, and they do bring forth works which are meet for repentance—

55 Yea, and will you persist in turning your backs upon the poor, and the needy, and in withholding your substance from them?

"...[N]either riches nor lineage nor any other privileges of birth should cause us to believe that we are “better one than another.”

Elder Dallin H. Oaks Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, April 2006
