Journal Entry:

My meeting with Dr. Kimball resulted in my being scheduled for spinal surgery a week from this Thursday, June 20th. I am, based on my conversation with Dr. Kimball, confident that my on going pain issues will be over. Hooray!!! In conjunction with this surgery I have pretty much decided against continuing to play pickleball. I'll talk to Dr.Kimball about it but I'm pretty sure he'll agree. My exercise will then consist of walking, stair climbing and using my stretch cords for arm and shoulder exercise. I don't ever want to go through this pain again.

We also got for new tires for our Prius at Costco. I noticed immediately that the road noise was far less which was one of my goals. Now we will get our new shock absorbers on the rear this Friday and the car should be like new. I'm also hoping that our gas mileage will improve.

We have a strong odor of mold in our front bathroom and I can't figure out why. We have a technician coming over today and are hoping he can help us figure this out.

Come Follow Me

Alma 5:19 I say unto you, can ye look up to God at that day with a pure heart and clean hands? I say unto you, can you look up, having the image of God engraven upon your countenances?

3 Nephi 18:24 Therefore, hold up your light that it may shine unto the world. Behold I am the light which ye shall hold up—that which ye have seen me do.

"Let me suggest that hands are made clean through the process of putting off the natural man and by overcoming sin and the evil influences in our lives through the Savior’s Atonement. Hearts are purified as we receive His strengthening power to do good and become better. All of our worthy desires and good works, as necessary as they are, can never produce clean hands and a pure heart. It is the Atonement of Jesus Christ that provides both a cleansing and redeeming power that helps us to overcome sin and a sanctifying and strengthening power that helps us to become better than we ever could by relying only upon our own strength. The infinite Atonement is for both the sinner and for the saint in each of us."

Elder David A. Bednar Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, October 2007
