Journal Entry:

The Provo Farmers Market opened yesterday for the first time this season and Cathy suggested we take a look. I have to say that it's still, as it has been in the past, mostly a collection of individually booths with people trying to sell things they've created or obtained some other way. Not much in the way of fresh farm food. The farmers markets are enjoyed in Kentucky kind of spoiled us because they were mostly marketing fresh food that we enjoyed.

Yesterday, we purchased some bricks for $.68 each to line our front garden. Before we went to the farmers market I placed some of the bricks along the front edge of our front yard garden. Until now, the border of the garden was not too well defined and these bricks seem to help with that.

Later, the weather got too hot to go for a walk outside so I did my indoor exercises. This consists of five times up and down the stairs, an array of stretch band exercises and a short walk around the basement repeated three times. When I was done, my total steps for the day was about 8,000 which is pretty good.

I'm still in pain, though, and the pain causes me to be somewhat weaker but I believe the exercises helped.

Come Follow Me

Mosiah 28:3 Now they were desirous that salvation should be declared to every creature, for they could not bear that any human soul should perish; yea, even the very thoughts that any soul should endure endless torment did cause them to quake and tremble.

4 And thus did the Spirit of the Lord work upon them, for they were the very vilest of sinners. And the Lord saw fit in his infinite mercy to spare them; nevertheless they suffered much anguish of soul because of their iniquities, suffering much and fearing that they should be cast off forever.

"Our own conversion must come first. The most important conversion for any of us is our own. If we are to bring the light of the gospel into others’ lives, it must shine brightly in our own. Once converted, the sons of Mosiah labored without ceasing to share the gospel with others, “for they could not bear that any human soul should perish.” Only when we are converted to the Lord Jesus Christ are we in a position to strengthen others. And only then do we begin to understand that our lives truly do have meaning, purpose, and direction…"
