022024 Tuesday, Journal Entry
Trying a new entry title system starting today: 022024 = February 20, 2024. It might be useful in looking up past entries. Maybe not. Can't hurt.
The Tea Party that Cathy and Erica put on yesterday was actually quite enjoyable and made more successful by having Jake and Fredrick attend as well along with, of course, Jill. A lot of work but fun.
Come Follow Me
2 Nephi 9:18 But, behold, the righteous, the saints of the Holy One of Israel, they who have believed in the Holy One of Israel, they who have endured the crosses of the world, and despised the shame of it, they shall inherit the kingdom of God, which was prepared for them from the foundation of the world, and their joy shall be full forever.
"If we look to the world and follow its formulas for happiness, we will never know joy. The unrighteous may experience any number of emotions and sensations, but they will never experience joy! Joy is a gift for the faithful. It is the gift that comes from intentionally trying to live a righteous life, as taught by Jesus Christ."
President Russell M. Nelson
"The constant companionship of the Holy Ghost is one of the greatest spiritual gifts Latter-day Saints enjoy."
Promptings of the Spirit By Elder Gary E. Stevenson Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
"Every Latter-day Saint can have the Holy Ghost as a friend to give counsel.
There is a way by which persons can keep their consciences clear before God and man, and that is to preserve within them the Spirit of God, which is the spirit of revelation to every man and woman. It will reveal to them, even in the simplest of matters, what they shall do, by making suggestions to them. We should try to learn the nature of this Spirit, that we may understand its suggestions, and then we will always be able to do right. This is the grand privilege of every Latter-day Saint. We know that it is our right to have the manifestations of the Spirit every day of our lives."
From The Teachings of Lorenzo Snow, Fifth President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
