Journal

I enjoyed serving in the temple yesterday even though my schedule was a rather mundane 4 veils followed by a tour in Initiatories then 2 more veils. They are all temple ordinances and are important to the over all goal of gathering Israel "on both sides of the Veil ". I truly am glad to be part of that process. I just checked and my schedule is the same next week. That is generally the case. The coordinators like to keep the schedules through each month so I imagine I'll have the same schedule through the end of October. The temple is closed for most of November for maintenance so we'll see after that.

Today I'm finally getting the Prius in for its 110,000 mile service even though it just turned 111,000. We were in Arizona when it turned 110,000 so...  It's just an oil change and checking up on fluid and other adjustments. The car still runs beautifully and I love it.

Come Follow Me

3 Nephi 21: 7 And when these things come to pass that thy seed shall begin to know these things—it shall be a sign unto them, that they may know that the work of the Father hath already commenced unto the fulfilling of the covenant which he hath made unto the people who are of the house of Israel.

"The coming forth of the Book of Mormon is a sign to the entire world that the Lord has commenced to gather Israel and fulfill covenants He made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We not only teach this doctrine, but we participate in it. We do so as we help to gather the elect of the Lord on both sides of the veil.

"The Book of Mormon is central to this work. It declares the doctrine of the gathering. It causes people to learn about Jesus Christ, to believe His gospel, and to join His Church. In fact, if there were no Book of Mormon, the promised gathering of Israel would not occur."

.    Elder Russell M. Nelson Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, October 2006
