2024 February 5, Monday, Journal Entry

Yesterday was a very good day. After church, Jake and Meredith and their children came for dinner and a fun visit. We're trying to make that a first Sunday tradition and so far we're doing pretty good. Cathy made a really delicious dinner.

I'm going to the dentist today to get my new tooth that we have paid over $1,000 for. No details but it's been difficult to chew for nearly the last year. I'm 78 years old and the decision to go forward with this tooth project was difficult but I truly believe I have another 20 years give or take so we did it. I took a photo of toothlessness and will take another later with the new tooth installed. Not sure as yet if I'll include these later. But we'll see.

Come Follow Me

2 Nephi 1:14 Awake! and arise from the dust, and hear the words of a trembling parent, whose limbs ye must soon lay down in the cold and silent grave, from whence no traveler can return; a few more days and I go the way of all the earth.15 But behold, the Lord hath redeemed my soul from hell; I have beheld his glory, and I am encircled about eternally in the arms of his love.16 And I desire that ye should remember to observe the statutes and the judgments of the Lord;

"I have thought of the Lord’s invitation to come unto Him and to spiritually be wrapped in His arms. He said, “Behold, [my arms] of mercy [are] extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me.”

The scriptures speak of His arms being open, extended, stretched out, and encircling. They are described as mighty and holy, arms of mercy, arms of safety, arms of love, “lengthened out all the day long.”

We have each felt to some extent these spiritual arms around us. We have felt His forgiveness, His love and comfort. The Lord has said, “I am he [who] comforteth you.”
