Today's Journal Entry
We went to the hospital at 0515 this morning and I underwent lumbar revision surgery. Dr Kimball had what sounded like a well thought out plan for the surgery.
He removed the four items in the photo to the right and revised the other existing hardware and tightened things up and that was it. The two long thin pieces are nearly three inches long. It's now four p.m. and I'm basically pain free and at home. It's hard to not imagine that the pain might return ìf or when the existing medication wears off but it's been nearly eight hours and so far so good. I will comment further tomorrow morning but here's's hoping.Come Follow Me
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light, and where there is sadness, joy.
Oh, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved, as to love. For it is in giving that we receive. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it’s in dying that we’re born to eternal life.
Amen.
Quoted by: Emily P. Freeman, Author of:
"How to Walk into a Room, The Art of Knowing When to Stay and When to Walk Away"
Alma 37: 36 Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.
37 Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.
"Inviting the Lord to be part of our family council through prayer will improve our relationships with each other. We can, with Heavenly Father and our Savior’s help, become more patient, thoughtful, helpful, forgiving, and understanding as we pray for help. With Their help, we can make our homes a little bit of heaven here on earth."
Elder M. Russell Ballard Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, April 2016
