I think I'm basically recovered from surgery to the extent that I have nearly no pain but it's still a chore to walk long distances. It seems like I used to walk 7500 steps or more every day. Currently it seems like more of a chore to do that. Plus I can't climb stairs as easily as I used to. I think all of this is just a matter of conditioning and seems to improve daily. I'm blessed that Cathy really urges me to get out and walk and I need to just do it.
I'm going to try to put in a full shift at the Bishops Storehouse this afternoon and get a good walk in this morning.
We went to the Springville farmers market yesterday evening and quite enjoyed it. One of the booths was selling beautiful peaches so we bought some for us then went back and bought some for Beth and Karen and dropped them off to them on the way home.
Book of Mormon review (review of earlier Come Follow Me assignments): Alma 13
Come Follow Me
Alma 32: 21 And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.
"Just believing, just having a “molecule” of faith—simply hoping for things which are not yet seen in our lives, but which are nevertheless truly there to be bestowed—that simple step, when focused on the Lord Jesus Christ, has ever been and always will be the first principle of His eternal gospel, the first step out of despair.
My desire today is for all of us—not just those who are “poor in spirit” but all of us—to have more straightforward personal experience with the Savior’s example. Sometimes we seek heaven too obliquely, focusing on programs or history or the experience of others. Those are important but not as important as personal experience, true discipleship, and the strength that comes from experiencing firsthand the majesty of His touch."
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
