Journal

We needed to walk and it's getting pretty cold and uncomfortable outside so we drove to Fashion Place Mall up in Murray and walked there. Then lunch at Aubergine Kitchen in American Fork then home. My sister, Beth, delighted us with a visit yesterday afternoon. She is so pleasant and loving and a great blessing to us and her whole family. One of the great benefits to us living here in Utah is being so close to her.

Today we are planning to have breakfast with Jake then go to the Orem Family Fitness Center to exercise. Later we are going to serve at the Bishops Storehouse.

Our temple, Mt Timpanogos, is closing for routine maintenance for most of November. We have been good about attending an endowment session on Saturday mornings so I tried to schedule sessions at the Provo City Center Temple and no spaces were available on Thursdays, Fridays or Saturdays. Apparently a lot of our patrons from Mt. Timp are going over to Provo. I was able to schedule sessions at Saratoga Springs so we can keep up our weekly temple attendance together. We both love our Saturday mornings at the temple. It's a great start to each weekend.

It's interesting and wonderful how much we have become used to being able to attend the temple. Our temple is probably the largest in Utah County and it's pretty well attended. So those saints need to go somewhere. On my weekly Wednesday ordinance worker sessions I have been assigned to a lot of veils and many of our sessions have over 80 patrons each and the sessions begin every 30 minutes.

When I received my own endowment before going to Sweden on my mission back in 1965 the only temples available in the whole state were in Salt Lake (where I went), St George, Manti and Logan. Now we have five just Utah County not counting Provo, Lindon and Lehi.

Come Follow Me

Mormon 1:13 But wickedness did prevail upon the face of the whole land, insomuch that the Lord did take away his beloved disciples, and the work of miracles and of healing did cease because of the iniquity of the people. 14 And there were no gifts from the Lord, and the Holy Ghost did not come upon any, because of their wickedness and unbelief.

Mormon 1:15 And I, being fifteen years of age and being somewhat of a sober mind, therefore I was visited of the Lord, and tasted and knew of the goodness of Jesus.

"The world would not have the Book of Mormon’s powerful witness of Jesus Christ if it had not been for two young men whom God trusted. Mormon, the prophet who compiled this sacred record, was just 10 years old when he was assigned to observe and later record the history of his people. At age 15, he was “visited of the Lord, and tasted and knew of the goodness of Jesus.”
